Our company has
dealt with countless
translations of technical manuals, marketing, financial, scientific, medical, and legal documents (including certified ones) as well as the linguistic adaptation of IT products packaging (software, hardware, and games).By
technical translations we mean documents with a high content of field-specific terms.
A legal contract, a corporate financial report, an industrial machinery user manual or a marketing document describing a high-tech product are examples of technical texts which not only explain or describe the item or subject matter, but also contain field-specific concepts.
Both
translation and
localization processes follow a series of well defined steps, the first of which is a careful analysis of the document.
After a careful consideration of the
target language, the
number of words, and the level of technical terminology, we assign the project to one or more translators who are
native-speakers of the target language and
specialize in a particular subject matter.
Once the document has been translated, it is submitted to a
revision and
quality check before delivering it to the client.
When we use
Translation Memory (TM) software, 100% of the words in the first
translated document are processed. Further documents submitted by the same client that refer to the same subject matter are then processed with the existing TM.
The use of
CAT tools tools allows us to carry out a translation project more quickly and at a lower cost for the client, given that several
strings of words would have already been translated.
The translation memory is then updated every time a new document is translated and used whenever a project requires it.
All
subsequent translations follow the aforementioned process, which is an advantage for our clients both in terms of the quality of the final product and substantial cost savings.
Another advantage of using TM is that it allows a
consistency of the style and terminology which our clients prefer.
TM also allows us to provide future translators with clear
guidelines regarding style, use of specific terminology, etc.
